COVID Safe Information for the AMC National Test Centre
The Australian Medical Council (AMC) is committed to prioritising the safety and wellbeing of team members, stakeholders, clients, and our communities.
The following information outlines the AMC's approach to providing a COVID-Safe environment at the National Test Centre (NTC). The information applies to any person who enters the NTC including, but not limited to, staff, contractors, visitors and exam participants.
Vaccination requirementAll persons entering the NTC must be fully vaccinated against COVID (including any eligible booster shots), with the last shot having been administered a minimum of two weeks prior to date of entry. All vaccinations must be recognised by the Australian government. Evidence of vaccination status will be required prior to attending 300 La Trobe St.
The following Australian government issued vaccination status documentation will be accepted:
The following methods of verification will be accepted:
Any candidate attending an examination without proof of vaccination will forfeit their examination fee.
Current approved and recognised vaccines and dosages are outlined on the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website
Persons vaccinated in countries outside of Australia will be able to present certificates in formats that meet the following criteria:
- Issued by a National or State/provincial level authority or an accredited vaccination provider
- Written in English or accompanied by a certified translation
- Containing at a minimum:

- the vaccine brand name and
- the date of each dose or the date on which a full course of vaccination was completed
The AMC NTC has established protocols and processes regarding Face Masks, Physical Distancing, and Attestations.
As of November 2021, according to the Victorian Government, such requirements are no longer applicable for the AMC NTC environment. If there are changes to requirements, several contingencies have been developed to meet regulations set out by DHHS, Business Victoria, and the Victorian Government. If the Victorian Government changes these requirements, the AMC COVID Safe Workplace Policy will be consistent with those changes, and the AMC website will be updated accordingly.
All persons attending an examination at the NTC are required to wear a face mask.
Disposable face masks will be available to all exam participants attending the AMC Clinical Examination on-site at the NTC.
The AMC NTC asks persons on-site at the NTC to maintain a physical distance of 1.5m. This requirement will be supported by implementing appropriate signage around the NTC, email communication, memos and adjustments to the examination operations.
